BLANCO Claronline-IF wins the iF gold award 2007: Award for outstanding design

(3/26/2007 12:00:00 AM) It is now official: the Claronline-IF sink centres from Blanco SteelArt are considered to be a masterpiece of German craftsmanship with extraordinary design qualities. The exclusive programme of inset sinks has just been awarded the prestigious iF product design award 2007 in gold. Claronline-IF is thus the first inset sink to be honoured with the highest award from the International Forum Design Hanover.

“We are very proud to receive the iF gold award. It confirms that our strategy of creating the perfect synthesis of design, function and workmanship in our products is the right one. It is also a great honour for Blanco SteelArt to be awarded the iF gold award together with international companies such as BMW, Apple and Sony”, said the Head of BLANCO SteelArt Joachim Kehrer on the occasion of the awards ceremony at the CeBIT trade fair in Hannover.

A few weeks ago, Claronline-IF was awarded the coveted iF product design award 2007. In a subsequent round, the panel of experts selected the programme of inset sinks as one of the recipients of the iF gold award as well. This puts it in the top 50 of all award-winning products in this year (see also: “Info on the iF award”).

The prize is not awarded for nothing. The designers and production engineers at Blanco SteelArt have done a magnificent job in successfully creating the handmade Claronline-IF sink centres. Available in a wide range of bowl combinations, the new generation of sinks combines impressive appearance with functionality. The unsurpassed simplicity of the reduced form is also evident in the fascinating design of the FinoTopTM rim, which gives the bowl the appearance of being flush mounted in the work surface. A further innovative and striking detail is provided by the unique corner radii of only 10 millimetres. Forms like this can only be produced with the required know-how. The streamlined transitions from the drainer to the bowl are a further special characteristic of Claronline-IF. They also reflect the excellent workmanship – a combination of the latest laser welding technology and perfect craftsmanship. This is not surprising, since Blanco has many decades of experience in dealing with the material stainless steel.

The iF awards have been awarded annually since 1953 in various categories – initially as the “Special exhibition of well-designed industrial products". Both manufacturers and consumers consider the iF awards, which are chosen by a panel of experts, as reliable proof of outstanding design coupled with superior-quality material and workmanship, and particularly well thought-out user friendliness.

There were 2,293 entries for the iF product award 2007, with 754 first-round winners. The panel of experts then chose 50 of these to be the winners of the iF gold award. One of these extremely important international design awards went to Blanco SteelArt for the Claronline-IF programme of inset sinks.
